Don Pedro is loaded with fish on the LiveScope, though they were biting a little hesitant. Rolling shad at 75 and 85 feet produced a beautiful three and a half pound rainbow. The kokanee are in the lake but scattered, so Capt. Monte Smith put out four rods of kokanee gear and started picking away at kokanee and lots of rainbows.

How is Don Pedro Reservoir fishing right now?

The LiveScope was lighting up with lots and lots of fish, and they were biting, but kind of hesitant. Capt. Monte Smith put fish in the boat and released most of them, keeping the salmon.

Rolling shad on the downrods produced early, with a rod at 75 feet getting pounded. When the wind came up and made speed control hard for rolling shad, Monte switched to four rods of kokanee gear, all lures, and started picking up kokanee.

From the report (Capt. Monte Smith): The LiveScope, boy, it was producing a lot of fish. The fish were biting, but they were kind of hesitant. At one point we had the shad rods down at 75 and 85 feet, and the 75 foot rod with shad was pounded and that turned out to be a three, three and a half pound beautiful rainbow. The kokanee are in there but they are really scattered. We put four rods out with all lures with kokanee gear and started picking up kokanee.
