How deep are Eagle Lake trout holding?
Not deep. The fish came from 7 to 15 feet, even though Bryan worked water 15 to 45 feet, sometimes over 40 to 45 feet, picking up a few on turns. As fall sets in and temperatures cool, expect more fish to move shallow.
What are Eagle Lake trout feeding on?
Mainly tui chub, which is standard for this time of year, plus lots of minnows in the lake. Match that forage with minnow-imitating patterns. Bryan's best producer had a darker brown tail with marabou and an iridescent flash mimicking those baitfish.
