Sacramento River striped bass fishing near Colusa is still catching tons of fish. Capt. Jeff Goodwin reports great water conditions and easy fishing on minnows, working the soft edges where the water is not moving fast. Drop minnows out the back of the boat and wait for the bite. How is Sacramento River striper fishing right now?

Very good. Not much has changed and the crew is catching tons of fish. Water conditions are great and it is one of the favorite fisheries of the year near Colusa.

What is the best striper technique?

Minnows. Find the soft edges where the water is not moving real fast, then drop minnows out the back of the boat and wait for the bites. It is really easy fishing once you know the river.

We are finding the soft edges, water that is not moving real fast, and we are just dropping minnows out the back of the boat and waiting for the bites. It is really, really easy fishing. It is one of our favorite fisheries of the year.
