What is working right now

Shasta Lake is fishing very good. The kokanee bite is great with limits coming pretty much every trip, rainbow trout are good, and king salmon are consistent, while brown trout are still slow. Surface temperatures are in the mid 70s with nice green water. Slow troll kokanee gear for the most reliable action.

How is Shasta Lake fishing right now?

Very, very good. The kokanee fishing is great, rainbow trout are pretty good, and king salmon are pretty consistent. Brown trout are still a bit on the slow side.

How is the kokanee bite at Shasta Lake?

Excellent. It is so good that Jeff has been getting limits of kokanee pretty much every trip for the last couple of weeks. Slow troll kokanee gear for the most consistent action.

What are conditions like at Shasta Lake?

Very good. Surface water temperatures are in the mid 70s and there is nice green water in most parts of the lake. Jeff put six rainbows in the boat on his latest trip.

What is the outlook for Shasta Lake?

Improving, especially for the rainbow trout. Jeff expects to soon have more rainbows than browns and more rainbows than kings, on top of the strong kokanee bite.

From the report (Capt. Jeff Goodwin): Our report for Shasta Lake is that it is fishing very, very good. Kokanee fishing is great. The rainbow trout fishing is pretty good. Our king salmon fishing is pretty consistent, but our brown trout fishing is still a bit on the slow side. Water temperatures on the surface are in the mid 70s and we have some nice green water. The kokanee fishing is so good that it's not hard for us to get limits pretty much every trip.
