Advice for this week

The kokanee bite at Stampede is “off the hook.” Stick to the 35–45 ft depth range and load up on purple gear—it’s the hot ticket right now. Pink and orange are working too, but purple’s leading the charge.

What is changing

Fish are schooling up heavy in the Little Truckee arm, but you’ll also find scattered fish out in front of the boat ramp. The bite is widespread and aggressive.

Next week

If the action holds, expect another week of easy limits and hot kokanee fishing. Color and depth consistency suggest stable conditions, so now’s the time to hit it before summer boat pressure ramps up.
