What is working right now Lake Almanor rainbow trout are in fantastic shape in mid-June 2025, running up to 5 to 6 pounds and averaging about 2.75 to 3 pounds. A strong hexagenia hatch along the west shore is concentrating fish. Slow troll metals to those spots, especially into the early evening when the hex hatch peaks. Water temps are in the mid to upper 60s. What is biting at Lake Almanor right now?Rainbow trout, and they are in fantastic shape. Capt.
