A strong hexagenia hatch along the west shore is concentrating fish. Slow troll metals to those spots, especially into the early evening when the hex hatch peaks. Water temps are in the mid to upper 60s. What is biting at Lake Almanor right now?Rainbow trout, and they are in fantastic shape. Capt. Bryan Roccucci reports fish up to 5 to 6 pounds, with the average around 2.75 to 3 pounds. These are solid, healthy fish scoring high on table fare.
