Red hot. Kevin Brock reports limits for everybody, with boats of four, five, even six anglers catching 30 fish a day and hooking up to 40. Whiskeytown is on fire, with quality kokanee including a 19-incher.

Deep. Kevin Brock is trolling mono down around 70 to 80 feet. At that depth the stretch in the line lets you pop the fish off the downrigger clip on a solid hookset.

From the report (Kevin Brock): We've been fishing Whiskeytown Lake for Kokanee, and I would rate it as red hot, absolutely red hot. Limits for everybody. Mix some tuna with your corn, tuna in the oil, and run that leader about 18 inches off that dodger. We run about 10 lb test on the main line. If you're fishing 70-80 ft with that stretch on the mono, you pop it and it pops off the clip.
