Shasta '26 was one for the history books. In over 25 years of competition, no team had done what Team Catch America accomplished. Six years ago this team was just an idea. Today it holds records nobody had touched in a quarter century.
Day 1 — The pattern emerged fast. Research and time on the water pointed to three zones: surface rainbows on small Kastmasters, mid-lake browns at 55–65 ft on larger bait profiles, and kings deep in Dry Creek at 120–180 ft, tucked tight to structure.
The winning ticket: rolling anchovies in a UV Purple Haze head harness at 2.2 mph, with a 10 ft setback bouncing bottom. It produced some of the largest landlocked kings Shasta had ever given up, including a personal best 6.8 lb king on Day 2.
Day 2 — A storm front locked down the Dry Creek bite. The team adapted, tracking fish that pressure had pushed to 150–185 ft at the mouth. Patience and the UV Purple Haze setup paid off when a personal-best king arrived in the bottom of the ninth to seal the three-peat.
90% of the gear used all weekend was Catch America. UV Purple Haze bait heads and White Trix Minnows dominated from surface to 180 ft, every species, every condition.
The Three-Zone Program
Built
Different.
Six years ago this team was just an idea. Today it holds records nobody had touched in over 25 years. The partnership between Catch America and Team Trinidad wasn't just business — it was a formula that delivered three consecutive championships, the heaviest bag ever weighed at Shasta, and a new standard for what's possible on the water.
