Trolling is the game, with 360 flashers and spinner or bait rigs. The classic Rogue spinner is an anchovy with a spinner blade up front. This ocean-fresh king run fishes mid-July through mid-September. What is biting on the Rogue River right now?Ocean-fresh fall-run king salmon are staging in the little bay at the mouth of the Rogue River estuary near Gold Beach, Oregon, before heading upriver. Capt. Jeff Goodwin reports really good, consistent king fishing here, one of the few strong salmon runs left on the West Coast.
