About this product

When I'm running chrome spoons and metallic lures for big trout and salmon, Chrome Killer is the fish attractant I trust to close the deal. It's a UV-enhanced oil formula specifically engineered for chrome and reflective finishes, loaded with real baitfish oils, amino acids, and powerful bite stimulants that chemically react with the metallic lure surface to create a multi-sensory attractant combination that triggers strikes even from fish that have already passed on the presentation. I apply it directly to my dodgers, spoons, and flashers before every troll, and I've personally watched it convert follows into strikes and cold spreads into bent rods when no other adjustment was working. If you're running chrome hardware without Chrome Killer, you're leaving fish in the water.

Overview

Chrome Killer™ is an oil-based UV scent developed by Captain Nate to supercharge your chrome lures. Ideal for spoons, spinners, flashers, and trolling flies, this potent formula blends multiple real baitfish oils, amino acids, and bite stimulants that trigger aggressive strikes from kokanee, trout, and king salmon.

Designed specifically for chrome finishes, Chrome Killer leaves a natural scent trail that disperses quickly in the water and keeps fish on the hunt. Whether you’re trolling deep for kings or finessing kokanee in clear water, Chrome Killer gives you the edge.

How to use

Shake well before use.

Drizzle a generous amount directly onto spoons, spinners, flashers, or trolling flies.

Reapply every 20–35 minutes or after catching a fish.

For best results, use on chrome or reflective lures in freshwater or saltwater.

Questions and answers

What is Chrome Killer Scent used for?

Chrome Killer is an oil-based UV scent from Capt. Big Nate Kelsch, built to supercharge chrome and reflective lures. Drizzle it on spoons, spinners, flashers, or trolling flies. It blends baitfish oils, amino acids, and bite stimulants that trigger aggressive strikes from kokanee, trout, and king salmon.

How do I apply Chrome Killer Scent?

Shake the bottle well, then drizzle a generous amount straight onto your spoon, spinner, flasher, or fly. Reapply every 20 to 35 minutes, or right after you catch a fish. The oil leaves a scent trail that disperses quickly in the water and keeps fish hunting your lure.

What lures should I use Chrome Killer on?

Use it on chrome and reflective finishes, where it works best. Big Nate tips a T-Pex with Chrome Killer corn or runs just the scent at Lake Berryessa for kokanee. Spoons, spinners, flashers, and trolling flies all take the oil well in fresh or salt water.

What fish does Chrome Killer Scent attract?

It is formulated for kokanee, trout, and king salmon, and it also draws striped bass. The baitfish-oil and amino-acid blend puts out bite stimulants that pull fish to a chrome lure. Big Nate Kelsch leans on it during his hot Lake Berryessa kokanee bite through summer.

What spoon pairs with Chrome Killer Scent?

Drizzle it on the Trigger Spoon, a chrome-finish fast-troll spoon for trout and landlocked salmon. The reflective body is exactly what Chrome Killer is built to enhance. Reapply the scent every 20 to 35 minutes to keep the trail fresh as you cover water on the troll.

Tried the Xpex pink swirl and the gold and orange recently at one of my spots and had two 20 inch rainbows in 10 minutes. I went 5 for 10 losing a giant mackinaw at my canoe on the pink swirl. Good times. I also used big Nate’s corn . Unfortunately the wind got out of hand before I could get on the Kokanee.

I’m the “typical” fisherman, tried loads of scents with mixed minimal results. After trying Nate’s, I believe it produces the best consistent results!

The Chrome Killer Scent and Big Nate’s Berryessa Spoons completely transformed my fishing experience at Lake Berryessa. Since using them, my catch rate has easily quadrupled. The difference is night and day, the fish can’t seem to resist. If you’re serious about upping your game, these are absolute must haves.

Chrome Killer worked better than all other scents used on my trip. Several of my buddies are reporting the same. I tried it and now I am a believer. Chrome Killer (CK) is the real deal. Arrive with CK and leave with a nice e bat h of fish. It works on all species in Lake Berryessa.

I make several batches of Kokanee corn, one of which use both Chrome Killer and the other Trigger Scent. Both have have outfished traditional offerings without the scents. I also add chrome killer to my tuna that is stuffed into my 3D printed cut plugs and we’ve limited out on Kings at Don Pedro every day we’ve gone out.

Smells Dank. I made up some tuna corn and put a teaspoon of this stuff in there. I am excited to fish with it soon.
