The Trix Minnow is a lifelike soft plastic that matches the exact baitfish profile trout, landlocked salmon, and bass key on. Its slender body and cupped paddle tail produce a natural, fluid swimming motion that stiffer baits cannot replicate, and that action is why it draws strikes when fish are selective. A proven trout troller that also fishes as a soft swimbait, drop-shot, or Ned-style bait for largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. Available in 12 proven colors. (5 Pack)
Overview
Soft plastics are changing the game in trout fishing, and the Trix Minnow is built for that bite. Designed for versatility, these minnows move fluidly through the water, imitating baitfish with a thin profile and soft texture that pressured trout and landlocked salmon respond to.
Why Use Trix Minnows?
Ultra-realistic action: the flexible, thin profile creates a natural swimming motion.
Versatile rigging options: use with action discs, jigs, plain hooks, dodgers, or the Trix Rigging Kit.
Built for trout and landlocked salmon: a soft baitfish profile for fish that will not commit to harder baits.
Customizable presentation: fish it alone, tip other lures, or run it behind a dodger for added action.
Effective at trolling speeds: works from 1.0 to 2.5 mph, with many anglers starting around 1.8 mph.
Available in 12 proven color patterns so you can match water clarity, forage, and fish mood.
How to Use
Troll It: Thread onto a bare hook or use with an action disc for extra movement. Troll between 1.0 and 2.5 mph.
Cast & Retrieve: Pair with a light jig head and retrieve with gentle twitches for a lifelike swimming motion.
Drift Fishing: Use on a drop-shot or split-shot rig to keep the minnow in the strike zone.
Add Scent: Enhance the soft bait with your favorite fish attractant.
Experiment with Colors: Rotate colors based on water clarity and fish activity.
Bring your trout trolling setup to the next level with the natural action of the Trix Minnow.

Work extremely well. Had good luck with all three colors I’ve tried on trout to about 22”. The wiggle disks make the tail have some crazy side to side action which the trout seem to love.

Trout Trix Minnow! I ran it with the action disc on a downrigger 20’ behind the ball. I saw a few marks at 50’ so I ran the ball 45’ feet down at 1.7 mph. I tested various speeds and liked the action between 1.4-1.8 mph. I was in the water for 10 mins and KaPOW! Fish on baby!
This is my third order through catch America with the trix minnows they have all the colors you need, very soft work very well trolled behind the boat and the best thing the trout love them no BS!
Ordered the trout tricks minnow kit when they first came out used them extensively at Collins Lake French Meadows hellhole reservoir when I lived back in California needed to replace the color that seems to be the most popular
The Trix Minnow is a 3 inch soft plastic baitfish sold in a 5-pack. It fools trout, kokanee, and opportunistic bass with a thin, fluid profile that mimics natural forage. Thread it on a bare hook or a wiggle disc and slow troll, or fish it on light tackle.
How do I rig a Trix Minnow?+
Thread the Trix Minnow onto a bare hook or a wiggle disc, seating the hook so the thin body runs straight and swims freely. The wiggle disc adds an erratic, strike-triggering wobble. For casting, use a light jig head and retrieve with gentle twitches for a lifelike motion.
What trolling speed works for Trix Minnows?+
Slow troll the Trix Minnow between 1.0 and 2.5 mph. That range lets the thin, soft body glide and flutter like a real minnow. Adjust depth with split shot, lead core line, or a downrigger to keep the bait in the strike zone where fish are marking.
Can I cast and retrieve Trix Minnows instead of trolling?+
Yes. Pair a Trix Minnow with a light jig head and retrieve with soft twitches for a swimming action, or fish it on a drop-shot or split-shot rig to hold it in the zone. The high scent retention keeps the soft body drawing bites on the pause.
What colors should I choose for a Trix Minnow?+
The Trix Minnow comes in twelve colors including Baitfish, Silver, White, Gold, Pink, Orange, Bubble Gum, Blue, Purple, Galactic Green, Space Gray, and Aurora. Run natural Baitfish and Silver in clear water, and brighter Pink, Orange, or Bubble Gum when water is stained or light is low.
What do I rig my Trix Minnows with?+
Pair your Trix Minnows with the Trix Rigging Kit. It gives you the hooks and rig components built to run these soft baits straight, so the minnow tracks true behind the boat and sits ready to seat scent for trout and kokanee.
