Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Wes Hoskin Eastern Sierra Kit?

Guide Wes Hoskin built this kit from the gear he fishes in the Eastern Sierra. It packs Bubble Gum and Orange Trix Worms and Minnows, five of each with one pre-rigged, a rigging kit, and two Trigger Spoons in Hammered Gold and Frankenstein. Proven and ready to fish fast.

What is in the kit?

Five Bubble Gum Worms, five Bubble Gum Minnows, five Orange Worms, and five Orange Minnows, with one of each pre-rigged, plus a rigging kit and two Trigger Spoons in Hammered Gold and Frankenstein. The soft baits handle finesse while the spoons cover water.

How do you fish the soft worms and minnows?

The Trix Worms and Minnows are slow-troll baits. Fish the pre-rigged ones straight from the pack, trolling slowly behind a dodger so each rolls with a natural wobble. Bubble Gum and Orange are bright, high-visibility colors that shine in Eastern Sierra stocked-trout water.

How do you fish the Trigger Spoons in the kit?

The Hammered Gold and Frankenstein Trigger Spoons are fast-troll spoons. Run them clean on a fast troll or on lead core, not behind a dodger, so each holds its tight wobble and flash. Use them to cover water and pull reaction strikes when the soft-bait bite slows.

What are the two color families for?

Bubble Gum and Orange are both bright, high-contrast colors that help trout find your bait in stained water or low light. Running one of each on separate rods lets the fish vote. The kit doubles up on worms and minnows so you can match whichever profile is working.

What spoon should I add to this kit?

Add the Trigger Spoon 2.25-inch to expand beyond the two colors in the kit. More Trigger Spoons give you a wider fast-troll spread for Eastern Sierra rainbows and landlocked salmon while your worms and minnows keep working the slow-troll rods behind a dodger.
